SCERT Haryana Gurgaon was established in April 1979. It was the conglomeration of State Institute of Education and State Institute of Science, to provide new dimensions to school education. It’s been a firm view of Haryana Education Department to enhance educational standards of teachers, so as to bring about overall qualitative improvement in different echelons of school education. It is in recognition of this endeavour that SCERT through its eight different departments fulfils all the needs and requirements in the field of education. The council lays highest importance on maintaining excellence in teaching both as an end in itself and as a basis for creativity for sustaining excellence in research. The institution aims to acquaint teachers with innovations brought out in the sphere of school education through continuous training sessions, workshops and other measures.

INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Conference Halls/Seminar Halls: There are five well equipped conference and seminar halls in main building and in science department having total seating capacity of 400 participants at a time.
  • Computer Labs: Haryana Government has established two computer labs of 50 computers in the council where training programs for computer education are organized.
  • Library: The State Council Of Educational Research and Training Haryana has a well equipped library. The library is maintaining a collection of over 25000 books of  varied disciplines. The council subscribes to 10 newspapers and 14 magazines on regular basis. 
  • Teachers' Home: In October,1988 a teachers' home, with 80 spacious and well ventilated rooms to accommodate 160 participating teachers, was constructed in the campus of the council.
